Full Terms & Conditions / Release of Liability

IMPORTANT – READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS SHOP

By entering and using the facilities, tools, or equipment of DIYVR (“the Shop”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Acknowledgement of Inherent Risks

• Bicycle repair and maintenance involve inherent risks, dangers, and hazards.

• Risks include, but are not limited to: cuts, bruises, strains, crush injuries, falls, exposure to chemicals or lubricants, property damage, and equipment failure.

• Improper repairs or maintenance may result in accidents, serious injury, or death while riding.

• The Shop is a self-service facility; any assistance from staff or volunteers is informal and without guarantee.
  
  

2. No Warranty or Guarantee

• The Shop does not inspect, certify, or guarantee the safety, quality, or roadworthiness of any bicycle worked on in the facility.

• You are solely responsible for ensuring that your bicycle is safe to ride after any work is completed.

• Tools, workspace, and any informal guidance are provided “as is” without warranty.
  
  

3. Assumption of Risk

You freely accept and fully assume all risks, dangers, and hazards associated with working on your bicycle and riding it afterwards, whether or not those risks are caused by the negligence of the Shop, its owners, staff, or volunteers.

4. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of British Columbia:

• You waive and release the Shop, its owners, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, or causes of action in respect of death, injury, loss, or damage to person or property arising from your use of the Shop’s facilities, equipment, or advice.

• This release applies even if the loss or injury is caused by the negligence of the Shop or anyone associated with it.
  
  

5. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Shop from any claims or actions brought against it by third parties arising out of:

• Your work on a bicycle in the Shop, or

• Your riding or use of any bicycle after it has been worked on in the Shop.
  
  

6. Minors

If you are under 19 years of age, you may only use the Shop with the presence and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who assumes all risks on your behalf.

7. Severability

If any part of this agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

BY ENTERING AND USING THIS SHOP, YOU ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SHOP.
